Meet the new MINI family: electric, digital, and fun-to-drive cars for the modern driver

The MINI brand is entering a new era with its latest generation of models. The new MINI family consists of the all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door, the all-electric MINI Countryman crossover, and the upcoming MINI Aceman, a new crossover in the premium small car segment. All these models combine distinctive design, advanced drivetrain technology, and an immersive digital experience to offer hallmark MINI driving fun with zero local emissions.

The new MINI Cooper 3-door: the original reinvented

The MINI Cooper 3-door is the core of the brand and the most iconic model in its lineup. In its fifth generation, it has been reinvented as an all-electric vehicle that is consistently geared towards urban driving fun. The new MINI Cooper 3-door features a modern and purist design that focuses on the essentials. The classic round headlights and the octagonal grille form the characteristic face of the MINI Cooper, while the short overhangs and the wide track emphasize its sporty stance.

The new all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door is powered by a 160 kW/218 hp electric motor that delivers instant torque and agile handling. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph). The high-voltage battery has a capacity of 71 kWh and enables a range of up to 402 kilometers (250 miles), determined in the WLTP test cycle. The battery can be charged at up to 150 kW at a DC fast-charging station, reaching 80% of its capacity in just 25 minutes.

The new all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door offers an immersive user experience with the MINI Operating System 9, which has been optimized for touch and voice control. The system features a 10.25-inch touchscreen display in the center instrument panel, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, and a head-up display that projects relevant information onto the windscreen. The system also supports over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full-fledged voice assistant that can be activated by saying “Hey MINI.”

The new all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door comes with a high level of standard equipment, including seats in high-quality Vescin artificial leather, LED headlights and taillights, automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, park distance control, and a reversing camera. All textiles and yarns for the seat, knitted surfaces, vehicle headliner, and floor are made from recycled materials. The new all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door is available in four trim levels: Classic, Signature, Iconic, and Electric Collection.

The new MINI Countryman: the adventure-ready crossover

The new MINI Countryman is the first MINI “Made in Germany.” It will be built at the BMW Group Plant in Leipzig, one of the world's most modern and sustainable automotive factories. The plant is expanding its e-component production capacity by eight production lines by 2024 and investing more than 800 million euros ($948 million). The high-voltage batteries for the all-electric MINI Countryman come from the plant’s own production facilities.

The new MINI Countryman is a crossover that offers more space, comfort, and safety than its predecessor. It has grown in external dimensions and features a longer wheelbase, a wider track, and a higher roofline. It can accommodate up to five passengers and up to 1,390 liters (49 cubic feet) of luggage space with the rear seats folded down. The new MINI Countryman also features wider wheel arches, roof rails, LED headlights with matrix function, LED fog lights, and a panoramic sunroof.

The new all-electric MINI Countryman is powered by two electric motors that provide all-wheel drive and a combined output of 230 kW/313 hp. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). The high-voltage battery has a capacity of 80 kWh and enables a range of up to 520 kilometers (323 miles), determined in the WLTP test cycle. The battery can be charged at up to 200 kW at a DC fast-charging station, reaching 80% of its capacity in just 20 minutes.

The new all-electric MINI Countryman also offers an immersive user experience with the MINI Operating System 9, which has been enhanced with additional features such as augmented reality navigation, gesture control, wireless charging, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen display in the center instrument panel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, and a head-up display that projects relevant information onto the windscreen.

The new all-electric MINI Countryman comes with high standard equipment, including seats in high-quality Vescin artificial leather, automatic climate control, adaptive suspension, hill descent control, park assist, and a 360-degree camera. All textiles and yarns for the seat, knitted surfaces, vehicle headliner, and floor are made from recycled materials. The new all-electric MINI Countryman is available in four trim levels: Classic, Signature, Iconic, and Adventure.
