Mercedes-Benz has launched the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé, the top-of-the-range model of its flagship sports car series. The new AMG GT Coupé combines stunning performance, exquisite design, and cutting-edge technology to offer a driving experience like no other.
Performance
The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that produces 639 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission and an AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system that can vary the torque distribution between the front and rear axles depending on the driving mode and situation.
The AMG GT Coupé can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 318 km/h (198 mph). The car also features an AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system that permits the driver to choose from six driving modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, RACE, and Individual. Each mode adjusts the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and exhaust settings to suit different road conditions and driving styles.
The AMG GT Coupé also boasts an AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension with adaptive damping, an AMG high-performance composite braking system, and an AMG electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential. These features enhance the handling, stability, and agility of the car, making it a joy to drive on any road.
Design
The new AMG GT Coupé is a masterpiece of design, with a striking exterior and a luxurious interior. The car has a long bonnet, a low roofline, a muscular rear end, and a wide track. The front fascia features a large AMG-specific radiator grille with vertical chrome slats, flanked by LED high-performance headlamps with integrated daytime running lights. The rear end features a large diffuser, a retractable spoiler, and LED taillights with a distinctive light signature.
The car also has several aerodynamic elements that improve its efficiency and performance, such as air curtains, air outlets, side skirts, and a rear apron. The sports car rides on 20-inch AMG forged wheels in the front and 21-inch AMG forged wheels in the rear, wrapped in high-performance tires.
The interior of the AMG GT Coupé is a blend of sportiness and elegance, with high-quality materials and advanced technology. The car has AMG Performance seats that are electrically adjustable, heated, ventilated, and offer excellent lateral support. The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather with contrast stitching and have an embossed AMG logo on the headrests.
The car also has an AMG Performance steering wheel that is covered in Nappa leather and DINAMICA microfiber. The steering wheel has touch-sensitive buttons that control the infotainment system, the driving modes, and the cruise control. The steering wheel also has two round displays that show various information such as engine speed, gear selection, temperature, and fuel level.
The dashboard of the AMG GT Coupé features two 12.3-inch screens that form a widescreen cockpit. The left screen serves as the instrument cluster, while the right screen serves as the central display for the infotainment system. The infotainment system is based on the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system that offers intuitive voice control, gesture control, touch control, and augmented reality navigation.
The infotainment system also has several AMG-specific functions and displays that show performance data such as boost pressure, oil temperature, lap times, and G-forces. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and has a wireless charging pad for smartphones.
The AMG GT Coupé also offers a high level of comfort and convenience for its occupants, with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester surround sound system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, keyless entry and start, and a head-up display.
