MG, the British brand that Chinese giant SAIC now owns, has introduced two new variants of its MG4 electric hatchback: the MG4 XPower and the MG4 Extended Range. These two models join the existing MG4 Standard Range and MG4 Long Range, offering more choices for customers who want an affordable and practical electric car.
The MG4 XPower is a performance-oriented model that aims to challenge the likes of the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX and the Cupra Born e-Boost. It has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that delivers a massive 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful production car in MG's history. The MG4 XPower can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, according to MG, which is faster than some supercars. It also has a sporty exterior design with a distinctive twin-aero rear spoiler, 19-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and a black-and-red interior with leather seats and carbon-fiber accents. The MG4 XPower uses a 64 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 270 miles on the WLTP cycle, which is slightly less than the MG4 Long Range due to the higher power consumption.
